Hermione had found herself in the library it wasn't a shock to anyone. She had received top grades the year before and before she knew it it would be exam time again. Being a little disappointed with a few results she thought she would brush up in the areas. She tied her hair up into a messy bun with a few strands of losing her falling in her face. She had a stack of books surrounding her paper and quill in hand as she hunched over copying something from a book, that she may need to know later.
It was like a second home in the library to Hermione. Though from her summer adventures and the many doodles round her paper of Krum. She felt like she may need to lighten up. Yes, she wouldn't jeopardise who she was and totally change. But she may try and do something different than study or go to a club one night a week. She shook the thought from her head and tried to focus away from her summer adventures to what she needed to do this year. She also had a nagging feeling about her dating Krum. She didn't want or like the attention really, for her brains yes but not for who she may or may not be dating. It was a nagging reminder that one slip of the tongue or secret picture and a world she had been hiding could come colliding with her school one. She had to shake the thoughts and keep focused.
The library was fairly busy today but she was at her usual spot quite far back taken away. Where she could concentrate and all of her friends know that she would be there.

Cassia stifled a yawn as she made her way to the library. She had just finished teaching a class and had tasked herself next to write the exam for the sixth years, although testing time was still a little ways away. Still, it never hurt to get some ideas of what questions to put on the paper. The redhead encouraged her students not to procrastinate and it wouldn't do good for herself to do the opposite in her own work. Madame Pomfrey nodded curtly to her as Cassia swept by her desk. She was one of the few who knew about Cassia's-- ahem-- condition, having caught her numerous times reading up on werewolf history and how to care for the lycanthropy illness, and was smart enough to come to the conclusion herself. Since then she'd helped Cassia do her research and helped her search for the books she wanted, when Cassia would slip into the library late at night, the doors kept open just for her. And the librarian was also kind enough to keep it all a secret. They lightly joked that Madame Pomfrey could set werewolf-Cassia loose to terrorize all the students who returned late or damaged library books, but it had yet to happen. When Cassia went to browse the shelves, a mass of bushy hair caught her eye. Hermione, of her excellent students. She was also a known friend of the Weasleys, two of whom had attained excellent O.W.L scores in Arithmancy, before Cassia taught the class. "Hermione Granger, how are you? I hope you are studying for the upcoming Arithmancy exam?" Cassia asked, smiling lightly as she approached the younger girl, trying not to scare her. She kept her grin a closed one, to hide the tiny canines that were reminiscent of her alter ego. "I do not intend to make it effortless, although I have no doubt that you will be able to solve anything I give you." Words: 324 Tags: Hermione J. Granger

Hermione sat with her hair pulled up in a messy bun a mess of Brown hair as she was working. She had a pile of homework she was trying to get in front of and a start of year exam she was studying for. She had it worse other years she had a handle on it this year. Hunched over the table as she red and scribbled notes down. She was pulled out of her studying zone. Usually but harry or another classmate wanting help o something but this voice was different sounded older. She glanced up and her eyes fell upon her new Arithmancy teacher for the year. Hermione all at once got a bit flustered and a little red-cheeked. She was a geek at heart and always wanted to impress so to be caught off guard flustered her.
“That is on my list for today's work. I wouldn't think you would make it easy. The more changing the better the only way to really see where you could start at this year wisely.” She said putting her quill down. Though she didn't want to seem like she was being big headed but she liked a challenge. Also after he had said what she said she realised it was to a professor and she didn't want to make it seem like she was telling her what to do with her class. “I mean that's would see who you need to help or get a study group together.” She started playing with her quill. She felt like she was putting her foot in it more she shut up.
Seeing her teacher has got her thinking of the rumours going around that she is like two other professors here at the school, a werewolf. She couldn't just come out and ask her but she would like to see if it was true or not.

Cassia did not take Hermione Granger to be a person who was desperate to impress, as she seemed to be now, but she supposed that she had snuck up on the poor girl in a way, and surprised her. But she had no malicious intents to do so-- well, perhaps a slightly mischievous one, borne from a natural curiosity about seeing what her students were up to outside of her class-- and she hoped that Hermione did not think that she had one. "I'm glad you're planning to study hard," the redheaded werewolf replied, with still some crispness in her voice to maintain some authority, although a playful tone had edged in as well; Cassia liked to tease others and it was fun for her to keep others on their feet, especially her students. Arithmancy was not for everyone and it required people with a certain amount of aptitude for higher learning and thinking, and it took consistent practice to keep a sharp mind. Plus, what fun was to always talk to people in a nice, gentle way? A bit sadistic, perhaps to other people, but she found a peculiar glee in challenging someone to a battle of wits. It gave her an opportunity to see if someone was really smart or not. "But my tests are not designed to wheedle the worthy and the unworthy," she continued. "Do not be concerned that I am trying to trick you... by myself. On purpose, that is. In reality, arithmancers are full of tricks, and therefore it would be unrealistic to not put at least one problem that contains a twist of sorts. And it is to my hope that you, and your classmates who all so willingly have chosen to taken on this difficult class, find it even somewhat enjoyable, as it will push your arithmancy and logic skills to its limits. Personally, I find it quite fun to transcend ordinary thought. A different kind of magic." Indeed, there was little need to wave wands in her class, which Cassia liked, because young people-- she knew this because she'd had the same mentality when she was a student at Hogwarts, in intelligent Ravenclaw house and thinking she ruled the world-- all seemed to think that with one flick of their wooden sticks they could do anything they wanted. Arithmancy proved many of them wrong, if Potions had not already. Those who came out of her class still strong-spirited deserved a level of respect, she liked to joke. Cassia knew she was thinking a bit arrogantly, as she was prone to do. But again, Arithmancy was not a subject for the average bloke and she was proud to be able to teach it, alongside study it. She was determined to do the discipline honor by doing her job well. "Studying is the responsibility of each individual student, Miss Granger. I will not voluntarily organize study groups, but should you be wished to place in one, you may let me know and I will find other students in the class who share the same desire." The young Professor tilted her head, narrowing her eyes slightly. The other girl had seemed a bit distant, off-- she was thinking about something, or someone, and Cassia would be wrong if she said she wasn't somewhat perturbed-- and admittedly, curious. She was always curious about other people. "Tell me, Miss Granger, you look a little absent. What is on your mind? I hope I am not so intimidating as to seem too inhuman to be concerned about my students' well-beings." Words: 593 Tags: Hermione J. Granger
